Ocean Basket - From South Africa to Qatar

One of South Africa's most loved chain of restaurants, the Ocean Basket, that has hundreds of chains in South Africa alone, finally docked on the shores of Qatar. Residents now are flocking to experience first hand the expertise and topnotch quality of their service, especially the mouthwatering sea foods that has been their tradition for more than twice a decade now.
I am indeed fortuitous that I got picked by Mall of Qatar as the winner of OB vouchers to witness and taste the cuisines of this newly-opened trending restaurant joint.

Nestled at the heart of the almost three-months-old Mall of Qatar, it is nearby to the fellow restaurants Eggspectation and Texas Roadhouse. The interiors is indeed refreshing from the other major restaurants I have visited that also offers seafood as their main dish, so it really adds to the unique atmosphere.

We picked the enormous Full Deck Platter as our order that took about more than a quarter of hour before it graced our table. Too much time, you'll say? No biggie, they served us some complementary melt-in-your-mouth cute-sized bread with three spreads and butter, and yes, it is for free. We also got lemonade as our beverage and mind you, it tasted like freshly-squeezed lemons!

Final verdict
Aesthetically-wise, the modern nautical ambiance had me. I really have a thing with the ocean, since I was born and raised near the sea so it has a big impact to me about ocean-inspired interiors, it makes me feel home.
Gastronomically-wise, yours truly is a seafood-junkie. I've been on some seafood restaurants in Doha that serves a variety of seafood galore and cuisines. Even though the menu items are palatable, there are still restaurants that offer more great finds and deals that fit your taste preference and affordability.
Cost-efficiency-wise, if you have a budget, you suddenly crave for sea foods and you are at MOQ's vicinity, then this is the place worth indeed to visit.
Customer relationship-wise, it was so-so. I had this miscommunication about the vouchers with this service crew that caused inconvenience to our part, but it was also settled immediately. But the thing is, the crew members who assisted us all the way from our entry to the joint until we left the area are indeed commendable
Will I come back again? Why yes!
There are still a lot of dishes that I haven't tried like their famous sushi, which has tremendous great responses so I would definitely comeback and dig in.
